David has had a lot of images shortlisted and awarded in major international wildlife photography competitions, including Wildlife Photographer of the Year, British Wildlife Photography Awards, Bird Photographer of the Year, European Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Asferico, Festival and Mammal Photographer of the Year. Below is a list of some his best achievements to date.


In 2021, this image - entitled Taking Its Toll - of an Arctic Fox David took in Iceland was Highly Commended in Nature TTL Photographer of the Year


In 2020, Travel Photographer of the Year awarded this image David took of an Arctic Fox in Iceland. 25,000 entries from 147 countries took part.


In 2020, David was Highly Commended in the globally prestigious Nature
Photographer of the Year
with this Arctic Fox image from Iceland entitled Caught In A Blizzard. David's image competed with over 20,000 entries from 97 countries.

David phtotographed this Shag on the Farne Islands collecting nesting material at the start of the breeding season. It received a highly commended in the British Wildlife Photography Awards in 2018.

Taken on the Farne Islands, this image won David a Highly Commended award in the International Photography Awards in America and in the first ever Bird Photographer of the Year


Captured in the Boreal Forests of Finland, David's shot of a Black Woodpecker was a finalist in the 2018 European Wildlife Photographer of the Year, reaching the top 1.8% of all entries


Taken on Hornstrandir, on the edge of the Arctic Circle, David photographed this rare blue morph Arctic Fox using its tail as a scarf during a heavy blizzard. It was shortlisted in the prestigious 2018 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year


Taken by David on the Farne Islands, this image was a finalist in the People's Choice Award in Bird Photographer of the Year and it won in the CEPIC Stock Photography Awards in Croatia


David photographed this fox after it had caught two voles to take back to its cubs. The image received a highly commended award in Mammal Photographer of the Year and was featured in the Guardian newspaper.
